Viniverso is a wine project born in Friuli Venezia Giulia from the collaboration between I Clivi and a network of local grape growers, with the aim of celebrating and conveying through wine the identity of one of the region’s historically most renowned wine-growing areas. More than simply a range of wines, Viniverso is a shared project built around the idea of “working as a network” to best express the richness of the territory, combining experience, knowledge of the land and a contemporary approach to viticulture. The project has its roots in the history of I Clivi, a winery founded in 1996 by Ferdinando and Mario Zanusso and now operating across the Collio Goriziano and Colli Orientali del Friuli areas. With Viniverso, this experience extends to collaborations with small local producers and grape growers, guardians of local expertise and traditions, creating a mindful supply chain that follows the wine from the vineyard through to vinification. The heart of the project lies in the Friulian plain, a territory with a long-standing tradition of producing wines known for their finesse and distinctive character. The particular composition of the soils, together with the moderating influence of the nearby Adriatic Sea, creates favourable conditions for grape growing and for the ripening of grapes capable of expressing fragrance, freshness and intensity. This is also an area with a long wine-making tradition: its vocation for quality had already been recognised in the ancient classifications of the crus of the County of Gorizia and Gradisca, bearing witness to the historical importance placed on the quality of Friulian wines. Viniverso’s philosophy therefore stems from the meeting point between tradition and research. Work in the vineyard and cellar is focused on preserving the characteristics of the grapes and delivering a clear and immediate expression of the territory in the glass. The range mainly consists of single-varietal wines, designed to clearly express the character of each grape variety and the different nuances of the Friulian plain. The range includes Ribolla Gialla, Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio among the white wines, alongside Cabernet-based expressions and the red Sclopit, made from a blend of Schioppettino and Pinot Noir. The selection is completed by a Brut made from white grapes grown in the area. Each wine bears a distinctive name – Cius, Svol, Bestieute, Riz, Masse Pasut, Sclopit, Scric and Brut – representing a different nuance of the Friulian landscape and culture. The winery practices are also focused on enhancing varietal expression. Some wines in the range are made exclusively in concrete, a choice that helps preserve freshness, balance and aromatic precision without allowing the character of the grape to be overshadowed by oak. Sauvignon Svol, for example, is aged in concrete on its full lees for approximately six months, while Pinot Grigio Riz is also made exclusively in concrete. Sclopit, on the other hand, is produced through fermentation in concrete with submerged cap, using spontaneous fermentation, followed by ageing in the same material. The result is a collection of fresh, elegant and approachable wines that tell the story of Friuli through different grape varieties and interpretations. Viniverso thus brings to the glass a style of winemaking deeply rooted in the territory, where collaboration between producers becomes a way of enhancing a land rich in history, biodiversity and wine culture. Every Viniverso bottle is a small journey through the Friulian plain: a story shaped by wind, water, soils and grape varieties, with a contemporary style deeply rooted in tradition. Producer name and address: Viniverso S.r.l. – Via Gramogliano, 20, 33040 Corno di Rosazzo (UD), Italy. The products in the range should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
