The Maison of the Taittinger family was founded in 1932 by Pierre Taittinger, a first officer in the French cavalry and a great enthusiast of sparkling wines and gastronomy. Today, the Champagne house is led by the third generation with Pierre-Emmanuel and his sons Clovis and Vitalie Taittinger. The long tradition, the family's commitment and the continuous search for innovation have led Taittinger to be among the most relevant and historic wineries, identifying itself as a reference point in the Champagne region. The estate is located in the city of Reims and covers some 288 hectares of its own vineyards, divided into 34 different crus where Chardonnay is the most significant variety and the main component of all the blends, with a unique and recognisable character worldwide. Synonymous with excellence, it is characterised by underground cellars built from chalk quarries from the Gallo-Roman era in which Maison Taittinger Champagnes are slowly matured in contact with their yeasts. Name and address of producer/distributor: Champagne Taittinger CCVC - 9 place Saint Nicaise, 51100 Reims. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
