TASTING NOTES

The Adami winery has firmly planted roots in the Italian world of wine. Back in 1920, Abele, the grandfather of the current proprietor, bought a promising, naturally amphitheatre-shaped vineyard from Count Balbi Valier. He noticed that the land had characteristics different from all of the other vineyards, and decided to vinify it separately. Thus, in 1933, he presented what was essentially the first true Valdobbiadene Cru: Riva Giardino Asciutto. Over the years, his son Adriano followed in his father’s footsteps. Then, in the 1980s, the third generation of the family entered the company. Adriano’s sons Armando and Franco Adami, the family’s latest wine experts, will aim to combine family traditions with the technology they learned about during their studies. Today, the Adami winery produces around 750,000 bottles of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco each year from grapes grown on around 50 hectares of vineyards. 12 of these are managed directly by the winery itself and the others are managed by small grape growers with historic links to the company. This particular Veneto sparkling wine comes from a careful selection of Glera grapes grown in a single vineyard at an altitude of around 350-400 metres. It is produced in the traditional way in accordance with the Charmat method followed by a three-month ageing process in stainless steel as it rests on its fine lees. Prosecco Valdobbiadene Superiore Dry Vigneto Giardino is the first example of a Prosecco produced from a single vineyard. The vineyard in question is called ‘Giardino Asciutto’, and the production of grapes started back in the 1930s. The wine is straw yellow in colour with a fine perlage and a persistent mousse. On the nose, it has aromas of mixed fruit with a prominent honey note. In the mouth, it is soft, full, and balanced. This wine is perfect to drink with an aperitif or to accompany a tasty platter of cured meats. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Adami

The Adami winery is located in the hamlet of Colbertaldo, not far from Valdobbiadene. One hundred years after it was founded, this vineyard, naturally shaped like an amphitheatre, presents a fascinating view of a unique production. The founder's brilliant intuition was to separate this vineyard from all the others, to make the most of the characteristics of the soil and its position. This was how Riva Giardino Asciutto came to be, known to most as the first real Cru wine of the Valdobbiadene area. This glorious tradition continues to this day, respecting the land and its unique characteristics, to bring quality Adami Prosecco to the market. Over time the company has expanded, combining family traditions with specialisation and modern techniques, while always maintaining respect for the terroir. This fusion gave rise to a modern wine-making and sparkling wine plant, thanks to which the brand was able to conquer new markets and reassert its prestige. Today, the Adami winery produces around 750,000 bottles with grapes from around 50 hectares of vineyards, 12 of which are directly managed. The other hectares are shared by small wine-growers with historical links to the company, with a shared focus on quality grapes. Name and address of producer/distributor: Adami - Via Rovede, 27 - 31020, Colbertaldo di Vidor TR. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
