TASTING NOTES

L’azienda Bel Colle nasce nel 1974 sulla collina dei castagni a Verduno, nel cuore delle Langhe, da un’idea e dalla passione dei fratelli Franco e Carlo Pontiglione e Giuseppe Priola. Una realtà che ha sempre avuto come obiettivo quello di produrre vini di qualità rispettando le consuetudini e le lavorazioni tradizionali. Nel 2015 viene acquistata dalla famiglia Bosio che ha rinnovato le tecnologie di cantina, senza rinunciare alla tradizione: vinificazione in acciaio, affinamento dei grandi rossi in botti grandi di rovere francese e Slavonia. Le uve Nebbiolo per la produzione del Barbaresco B’Aso arrivano da alcuni dei vigneti più importanti dei comuni di Neive e Barbaresco, ad un’altitudine di circa 300 m/slm, da terreni tipicamente marnosi, ricchi di calcare ed argilla. La produzione in vigneto viene mantenuta molto bassa per fare in modo che le viti riescano a concentrare il più possibile gli aromi e le sostanze che rendono poi il vino così prezioso, all’interno degli acini. La vendemmia è effettuata in modo completamente manuale per preservare l’integrità della materia prima e, dopo una fermentazione in botti di acciaio, affina per circa 2 anni in botti di legno grande, il che rende questo vino rosso piemontese un’espressione sincera e scolastica di ciò che un Barbaresco deve essere. Una volta all’interno del calice, il colore è rosso granato con delle sfumature che tendono leggermente verso il mattonato. Al naso esprime un bouquet aromatico ricco, intenso e complesso, con delle note di piccoli frutti rossi, di violetta essiccata e con una delicata nota speziata. Emergono sul finale anche dei sentori dovuti all’affinamento di cuoio e tabacco. In bocca è denso, potente e deciso, piacevolmente tannico e con un gradevole finale fresco e sapido. Si tratta di un vino perfetto per essere bevuto in compagnia, durante un ricco pranzo della domenica, in abbinamento a della succulente carne rossa. Bel Colle

In the beautiful setting of the Langhe, in Piedmont, lies the Bel Colle estate. Since 1974, its founders, the Pontignone brothers and their friend Giuseppe Priola, have aimed to bottle excellent wines, enhancing the tradition and uniqueness of the territory that hosts them. The Bel Colle vineyards extend in an area particularly suited to the production of Barolo, on a hill of chestnut trees. The plots are located between 300 and 400 metres above sea level, enjoying favourable exposure and microclimate that give the grapes an intense and persistent aroma. In 2015, the company was taken over by the Bosio family, who applied technological innovations to the production processes, while still respecting the values that have always been promoted by the Bel Colle winery. Large French oak barrels store the important reds for at least five years, before they are transferred to the bottle. Sipping Bel Colle wines one is enchanted by the garnet reflections and spicy yet delicate aroma, characteristics sought after by all lovers of Piedmontese red wines.
