TASTING NOTES

The Frescobaldi winery is one of the most historic, important and well-known wineries in Tuscany and Italy as a whole. This winery has an ancient history and today it’s still one of the major wine producers in Tuscany, with a total of 1200 hectares under vine in prestigious estates with historic homes and ancient castles. And it is in one of these marvellous estates, that of Ammiraglia in Maremma, where Toscana Rosé Alìe was born. This wonderful rosé is a fusion of 95% Syrah grapes and a minimum percentage of 5% Vermentino, grown in the Magliano area, on the Tuscan Tyrrhenian coast. The Syrah grapes give this wine a very elegant pink colour without the need for maceration (a light direct pressing is sufficient), while the Vermentino contributes impeccably to their signature balance of fresh and savoury notes. A rosé wine that presents itself with a wonderful shade of very lively soft pink. The nose is delicate and pleasant: with notes of strawberries, white flowers and light minerality. The 4-month ageing in stainless steel tanks enhances its freshness, which can be felt from the very first sip: it is immediate, clean and light in the mouth. It is very easy to drink and this makes it a perfect pairing any day with a light lunch, particularly white meat and simpler dishes, or excellent as a fresh aperitif with friends. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Frescobaldi

With a history dating back to the Middle Ages, when Florence was the most important commercial and cultural crossroads in the modern world, the Frescobaldi family has been established as one of the leading wineries in Tuscany for centuries. The Frescobaldi vineyards cover a total of 1,200 hectares, spread over several estates, each with its own characteristic microclimate and terroir. The distinctive strength of this winery lies in the ability of its managers to enhance the diversity and uniqueness of the Tuscan territory. Agronomists and oenologists work together to cultivate the vines in an environmentally friendly and sustainable manner. Involved in this enterprise for 700 years, the Frescobaldi family has skilfully kept up with innovations, interpreting the most prized red wine labels with absolute mastery, including the Chianti, the Brunello di Montalcino and the Rosso di Montalcino. But all wines from the Frescobaldi winery contain a kaleidoscopic bouquet of aromas and flavours that give them an exceptional personality, perceptible at a glance. Name and address of producer/distributor: Frescobaldi - Via Aretina 120, 50065 Sieci Firenze (FI). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
