TASTING NOTES

For more than half a century now, the Ratti winery has become an essential company for the Piedmontese wine scene. In fact, the winery currently produces a vast line of iconic and reference wines for the area, also recognizable by the series of labels depicting toy soldiers, designed to recall the deeds of the Piedmontese regiments in defence of the Langhe and Monferrato between the end of the 1700s and the early 1800s. With the Chardonnay Brigata we are located near Dogliani, among the vineyards of Cascina Palazzo. Here, as by now in all of the Langhe and in the rest of the region, the Chardonnay has adapted impeccably. The wine in question is vinified partly in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature and partly in barriques, resulting in a wonderful intense straw yellow colour and a pleasant wine both on the nose with hints of exotic fruit, white flowers and citrus fruits, and on the palate with a beautiful freshness and minerality and a honey note on the finish. Particularly suitable paired with dishes based on fish, molluscs and crustaceans, or with even more complex and spicy cuisine if left in the bottle for a few years. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Ratti Renato

The Ratti winery is located not far from La Morra, in the province of Cuneo, in the very heart of the Barolo territory, amidst the gentle contours of the area's hills and the finest vineyards. It is located within the Abbey of Annunziata, and still boasts a production that is closely attached to ancient local traditions. The production of wines mainly follows the teachings of the monks who have inhabited the Abbey over the centuries. The few additions of the most advanced techniques have been carefully chosen to allow the final product to bring out the best of the unique properties of the soil and its most precious grapes. The end result? Some Piedmontese wines that are rich in character, strong and decisive, but at the same time elegant and fragrant, capable of narrating not only the best of the territory, but also the oldest history of the area. In addition to Barolo, the winery also boasts a large production of Nebbiolo and fine grappas, all to be discovered. Name and address of producer/distributor: Ratti Renato - Frazione Annunziata, 7, 12064 La Morra (CN). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
