For more than half a century now, the Ratti winery has become an essential company for the Piedmontese wine scene. In fact, the winery currently produces a vast line of iconic and reference wines for the area, also recognizable by the series of labels depicting toy soldiers, designed to recall the deeds of the Piedmontese regiments in defence of the Langhe and Monferrato between the end of the 1700s and the early 1800s. With the Chardonnay Brigata we are located near Dogliani, among the vineyards of Cascina Palazzo. Here, as by now in all of the Langhe and in the rest of the region, the Chardonnay has adapted impeccably. The wine in question is vinified partly in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature and partly in barriques, resulting in a wonderful intense straw yellow colour and a pleasant wine both on the nose with hints of exotic fruit, white flowers and citrus fruits, and on the palate with a beautiful freshness and minerality and a honey note on the finish. Particularly suitable paired with dishes based on fish, molluscs and crustaceans, or with even more complex and spicy cuisine if left in the bottle for a few years.
