TASTING NOTES

Gutturnio is obtained by blending Barbera and Bonarda; its name derives from a silver jug called Gutturnium, with a capacity of about two litres, found in Veleia Romana in 1878, used by the ancient Romans to drink wine. Ruby red wine of various intensity. The bouquet is intense and vinous, with fragrant aromas of red fruit. On the palate it has a good body, the acidity of the Barbera and the tannins of the Bonarda find the right balance in the wine, with a pleasantly fruity bouquet. The taste is fresh, young and persistent. It is wine for every day, characterized by a very pleasant drinkability and by its ability to combine perfectly with the local cuisine. Perfect for accompanying first courses and white meats. It is best with cured meats. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Il Poggiarello

In 1882, the meeting between a farmer and a carpenter sealed the birth of Il Poggiarello winery. After one hundred years in which generations and different ways of cultivating vines followed one another, the great-grandchildren of the founders took over the company, taking up the challenge to reorganise it and revive it. The area of Emilia-Romagna where the Il Poggiarello winery is located is already particularly well suited to viticulture. The hills of Piacenza, on which the company's 13 hectares of vineyards are located, are known and respected for the excellent wines they produce. In a place where natural beauty and winegrowing vocation blend to perfection, a stone building from the 19th century, housing the tavern and the wine cellar, takes centre stage. Sipping a glass of good red, surrounded by a delightful panorama, it is possible to bear witness to all the care and devotion that guides the managers and that has enabled them to position themselves in Italian and foreign markets in just a few years. Name and address of producer/distributor: Il Poggiarello - Loc.Poggiarello, 1, 29020 Fraz.Scrivellano, Travo (PC). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
