THE WINERYCastello di Ama
The Castello di Ama winery owes its origins to four families of Roman origin who, charmed by the beauty of the hills of Tuscany and united by a passion for good wine, decided to try their hand at producing Chianti in the 1970s, bringing the ancient village of Ama back into vogue.
This village, a hamlet of Gaiole in Chianti, is surrounded by 75 hectares of vineyards, divided into four areas, all at an altitude of between 420 and 525 metres above sea level. The soils are rich in limestone, clay and rocks, each able to give a particular note to the different grapes that are harvested there: freshness and elegance here, harmony and power there, dotted with hints of berry fruits, tobacco, liquorice and mint.
Lorenza Sebasti and Marco Pallanti, the current managers of the Castello di Ama winery, now produce labels of exceptional value, recognised and appreciated all over the world. As Marco explains, their aim is to make the uniqueness of the soil, landscape and vines perceivable with every sip of their fine red wine. Name and address of producer/distributor: Castello di Ama - Località Ama in Chianti, 53013 Gaiole in Chianti SI. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
