TASTING NOTES

The Sauvignon WINKL variety was first grown in 1959 close to the Rio San Pietro, at a height of between 250 and 450 metres. After the grapes are carefully harvested by hand, they are gently pressed and fermented for 7/8 months, 80% in stainless steel and the remainder in wood. It has a straw yellow colour with greenish hues and a good consistency. The aroma has tones of ripe yellow fruit, apricot and passion fruit, enlivened with a touch of mandarin. There are also light notes of elderflower and gooseberry. The full-bodied mouthfeel is perfectly complemented by the aromas and minerality which envelop the mouth, ending on an interesting savoury note. WINKL is the ideal everyday wine to pair with prawns or tuna tartare. Good with mild cheeses or a nice plate of canederli dumplings. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Terlano

Cantina di Terlano was founded towards the end of the 19th century and has since distinguished itself as one of the most progressive winegrowers' cooperatives in the whole of Alto Adige. The commitment and hard work of its members has been pursued with passion, always keeping faith with their traditions, to ensure the production of wines from Alto Adige that best represent the characteristics of the region. Today, the members of the winery cultivate around 165 hectares of vineyards, with an annual production of more than one million bottles per year. Such a large production can count on the valuable support of a dense network of knowledge and know-how handed down from generation to generation, and the constant study of the most modern techniques. Only DOC wines are matured in the current company, divided between 30% of red wines and 70% of white wines, presented to the public in three different lines: the Selections, the Vineyards and the Classics. Name and address of producer/distributor: Terlano - via Silberleiten, 7, 39018 Terlano (BZ). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
