TASTING NOTES

Based on tradition and passion, Terlan Winery offers a selection of red and white wines that best represent the terroir’s characteristics. Alto Adige Pinot Nero is an Alto Adige red wine made from grapes sourced from several different parcels of land, particularly on the Monticolo plateau near Terlano, at altitudes of between 250 and 400 metres, on a well ventilated and well exposed site. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats and malolactic fermentation takes place in large wooden barrels. In the glass, this wine displays a beautiful, very vibrant ruby red, with surprising first fruit notes of blueberry and cherry. Pinot Nero maintains the typical elegance of this grape variety delivered by the integrity of the fruit notes combined with the minerality typical of wines from the Dolomites. The use of large barrels does not change the characteristics of the wine but adds liquorice notes that highlight the fruit notes. The Pinot Nero does not need a special occasion to be enjoyed, in fact it is excellent for every occasion. THE WINERY

Terlano

Cantina di Terlano was founded towards the end of the 19th century and has since distinguished itself as one of the most progressive winegrowers' cooperatives in the whole of Alto Adige. The commitment and hard work of its members has been pursued with passion, always keeping faith with their traditions, to ensure the production of wines from Alto Adige that best represent the characteristics of the region. Today, the members of the winery cultivate around 165 hectares of vineyards, with an annual production of more than one million bottles per year. Such a large production can count on the valuable support of a dense network of knowledge and know-how handed down from generation to generation, and the constant study of the most modern techniques. Only DOC wines are matured in the current company, divided between 30% of red wines and 70% of white wines, presented to the public in three different lines: the Selections, the Vineyards and the Classics.
