TASTING NOTES

The history of the Masi farm in Valpolicella began in 1772, when the Boscaini family bought some very important vineyards in the valley called Vaio dei Masi. Hence the name of the winery which, after 200 years, is now owned by the seventh generation of the Boscaini family, capable of becoming a world reference point for the production of Amarone and able to perfect the technique of partial drying of the grapes year after year, an art that dates back to Roman times. The winery is one of the most important and renowned companies in the Veneto region. It is extremely active in safeguarding the old native vines and traditional Venetian viticulture techniques. In 1964, the ingenuity of Guido Boscaini gave birth to Campofiorin, a red wine defined as “Supervenetian” due to its complexity and structure. It is obtained from Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes with an initial alcoholic fermentation followed by a second fermentation with the addition of 25% dried grapes. At the end of the vinification process, it matures in large and small barrels for 18 months. In the glass, it has an intense ruby colour with little transparency. It exudes aromas of ripe cherries, berries and delicate notes of sweet spices. It is rich and round on the palate, with velvety tannins and long length.
