TASTING NOTES

Cantina Brigaldara was founded in Veneto in the heart of Valpolicella, an area renowned worldwide for the production of great red wines. Valpolicella Ripasso originates from the ripasso technique: a second fermentation of Valpolicella Classico on the still moist and sweet marc of Amarone and Recioto. Brigaldara offers it in a classic guise with the traditional blend based on Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella. The wine, fermented and stored in stainless steel, will spend five days on the pomace of the freshly drawn Amarone, then pass into large barrels for the next 18 months to complete the ageing process. Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso is a beautiful bright red with transparent ruby tones. A nose that is immediate but endowed with good complexity and territoriality, ripe cherry is in the foreground flanked by a subtle spicy note and sweeter nuances given by the marc of Recioto. Mouth with good structure and volume, it maintains a lively and flowing dynamic. A versatile wine that can accompany both meat and pasta dishes. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Brigaldara

With its characteristic 16th century villa surrounded by magnificent vineyards, the Brigaldara winery in San Floriano, owned by the Cesari family since 1928, dominates the Vallata di Marano, one of the four valleys of the historic Valpolicella area. The secret of these Veneto wine producers lies in the winemaking process, a crucial element of the Brigaldara identity. Supported by significant wine-makers such as Roberto Ferrarini, one of the most important innovators in the history of Amarone, the members of the Cesari family have in fact adopted important innovations for their production facilities and the cellar. Lamberto and Antonio, the current owners, encourage a specialised layout of the vineyards with constant love and passion, based on the varieties best suited to each area of their 120 hectares. So much attention makes the Brigaldara winery stand out with its unique biodiversity, respected and enhanced through sustainable practices, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, which allow them to bottle a varied wine heritage. Name and address of producer/distributor: Brigaldara - Via Brigaldara, 20 37029 - San Pietro in Cariano VR. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
