TASTING NOTES

Farina, a family that has inherited a passion for wine and carrys it forward with conviction and love. 45 hectares of vineyards in the Valpolicella Classica area: Ten of these are owned by the winery itself and 35 are the property of historical winemakers that the Farina family sees as true partners in the production of their wines. Farina's Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore is a red wine that belongs to one of the best known and most appreciated DOC wines from Veneto throughout Italy and beyond. This Veneto DOC is restricted exclusively to the historic Valpolicella area in the province of Verona and only uses indigenous grape varieties such as Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Molinara. The Ripasso technique is an ancient practice that consists in re-passing and re-fermenting Valpolicella wine with the marc of Amarone or Recioto for about 15 to 20 days, so that the wine produced has more structure and complexity than the base wine. Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore di Farina is aged in barrels for a minimum of 12 months. It has a beautiful intense ruby red colour with light garnet reflections, and on the nose it is complex and fruity. Black cherries and plum jam, notes of sweet spices and vanilla, hints of leather and a light roast of coffee. It envelops the palate with its softness and fine alcohol content. Perfect with roasts, braised meats, game and mature cheeses. A wine that can accompany us at the table every day. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Farina

Cantina Fasoli Gino is located in the Verona area, a wine producer since 1925 and historically the site of great innovation. With an activity that obtains its fruits from the vineyards in splendid areas such as the Val d'Illasi or the hills that frame Lake Garda, since 1984 it has been cultivating vines with the organic method, which since 2006 has been joined by the biodynamic one. Located in an area typically known for its production of white wines, the estate offers products such as Lugana, Soave and Bardolino Chiaretto. These are generally soft, balanced and fresh, endowed with elegance and versatility that comes from the native grapes and the minerality of the soil. However, the winery has also ventured into the production of Venetian Reds, immediately obtaining exciting results. Among its best-known products you can find Amarone, Merlot, Valpolicella, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. All soft, elegant, decisive and enveloping wines, extremely cared for with periodic tastings during the ageing process. But Fasoli Gino's product offer does not end there. Elegant and fragrant sparkling wines are also produced in this winery. They exhibit predominantly bitter tones, with an acidity that tends to preserve the sensation of freshness of their Prosecco. Name and address of producer/distributor: Fasoli Gino - San Zeno di Montagna, Via C.Battisti, 47, 37030 Colognola Ai Colli (VR). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
