TASTING NOTES

Grand Année Rosé comes from a vinification in wood and disgorgement made entirely by hand. Champagne Rosé is the result of the blend of red grapes from the Côte aux Enfants, a plot of Aÿ, a monopoly of the Maison that is vinified in red only when the ripening of the grapes is optimal, a rarity that contributes to the quality of this wine. Grand Année Rosé is the blend of 19 Pinot Noir Crus for 63% and 37% of Chardonnay, with a small addition of 5% of red wines. Fermentation takes place entirely in oak barrels and maturation takes place for a longer period than that provided for by the production specification. The moderate dosage is 8 grams per liter. The vintage 2014 is the result of a year made of contrasts and nuances. An autumn and a rainy winter were followed by two very dry and sunny months and a cold summer. Despite these adverse conditions, Champagne Rosé expresses itself with a good balance between maturity and acidity. Grand Année Rosé is presented to the glass with a salmon pink color with golden reflections, to the nose is expressed with fruity notes of strawberry, blackberry and cherry. On the second nose are perceived notes of white and savory peach. On the palate an effervescent creaminess with a magnificent volume in the mouth and a long aromatic persistence. Nice acidity and minerality on the finish. Refined and full-bodied, Champagne Rosé by Bollinger sublimates the most sophisticated and delicate moments. To highlight its elegance is perfect in combination with raw fish. To fully appreciate the style, this Grand Année Rosé should be served at a serving temperature of 8/10 ºC. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Bollinger

A form of perfection, Maison Bollinger has been crafting the finest Champagne with a refined, complex and elegant style since 1829. The 179 hectares of estate vineyards consist of 85% Grand and Premiers Crus divided into the cultivation of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes. Bollinger's underground wine cellar winds its way through kilometres of stone tunnels, directed by Mathieu Kauffman, who obsessively and meticulously controls all production processes, according to tradition and even rejecting some innovative techniques. The remuage of bottles, for example, is still done by hand. After the first fermentation in stainless steel or wooden vats, the wines are bottled in spring and descended into the silence of the chalk galleries, where they rest for at least three years for the Cuvée Speciale and several more years for the vintages. It is this long resting period that gives the aromas this rare delicacy and the perlage a velvety perlage and texture. The Bollinger style is inimitable and recognised worldwide as such by all great Champagne lovers. Each Bollinger Champagne is the result of production at the top of the French houses. Name and address of producer/distributor: Champagne Bollinger, 16 Rue Jules Lobet, 51160 Aÿ-Champagne - France. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
