TASTING NOTES

The Vietti winery was founded at the end of 1800 by Carlo Vietti in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto in the heart of the Barolo production area and, therefore, immersed in the Langhe. Today the name Vietti is recognized worldwide as one of the most important wine producers worldwide thanks to the work of 4 generations and, Above all, of Luciana Vietti and Alfredo Currado who introduced small great innovations such as the first production of Barolo cru, the vinification of Arneis in purity and the labels of author. The vineyards are all cultivated in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto and Barolo DOC. The main vine is Nebbiolo, responsible for the great Barolo wines, but Vietti also produce Barbera, Dolcetto and Arneis. The terroir in this area is distinguished by the production of wines with good concentration and fruit but also elegance and freshness. Some of them can continue to age in bottles for tens of years. Vietti winery owns vineyards in some of the most important cru of Barolo including Brunate, Lazzarito and Ravera. Vietti Barolo Lazzarito is a dry red wine produced from 100% Nebbiolo grapes from the famous Lazzarito vineyard of Serralunga d'Alba of which Vietti owns 2 hectares. Limestone-clay soil with south-west exposure. In the cellar the must is subjected to a long fermentation and extraction carried out with the submerged hat technique to finish aging in large and small barrels for about 30 months. Intense ruby red with garnet reflections. Intriguing nose of menthol and hay notes, ripe fruit and tobacco, white pepper and underbrush. In the mouth explosive but elegant with strong structure, great complexity and very long finish. Piedmontese red to taste to celebrate important occasions, to be breathed before drinking or observed it change in the glass. Excellent with red meat, game and stews. To fully appreciate the style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 16/18 ºC. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Vietti

In the heart of the Langhe, an area known for the production of the traditional Barolo, Cantina Vietti has stood for four generations. However, it was in the 1960s that Alfredo Currado revolutionised wine production, from monovarietal vinification to Etichette d'Autore, original Vietti wines created by artists and inspired by a specific vintage. In the following years, the Vietti family continued along the road of experimentation in search of quality, contributing to the creation of one of the most renowned brands of Piedmontese wine made in Italy. To this day, Cantina Vietti, acquired by Krause Holdings, combines the traditions and passion carried on for generations with innovative techniques to ensure the production of high quality wines and an a href="https://www.signorvino.com/it/vini/inno_alla_natura/">viticoltura and sustainable viticulture that enhances and safeguards the surrounding terroir. The end result of the excellent Piedmontese wines produced by Cantina Vietti, which convey the love for the surrounding area and the dedication of its producers, can be appreciated on the palate. Name and address of producer/distributor: Vietti - Piazza Vittorio Veneto, 5, 12060 Castiglione Falletto (CN). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
