TASTING NOTES

The Brigaldara Winery was established in Veneto in the heart of Valpolicella - an area world-renowned for the production of great red wines - the first traces of the name Brigaldara date back to the 12th century. In 1928 it was bought by the Cesari family, establishing the company we know today. Famous for its various interpretations ofAmarone - the most important Veneto red wine, produced through an ancient drying technique - Brigaldara wines always have a sober, elegant and distinctive regional taste. Amarone Cavolo comes from the two-hectare vineyard of the same name in Grezzane in Valpantena, characterised by a particularly mild microclimate. The plants grow at a height of about 130 metres above sea level and are surrounded by almost two hectares of olive groves. Amarone Cavolo, made of mostly Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grapes, is aged for two years in barriques and another two in large Slavonian oak barrels. It is an intense ruby colour with garnet hues, has an aroma of macerated cherry and jam, deep tertiary and spicy notes, as well as hints of vanilla and coffee. The wine is warm, soft and impactful, with great volume and length. Pairs perfectly with slow-cooked meat or cheese. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Brigaldara

With its characteristic 16th century villa surrounded by magnificent vineyards, the Brigaldara winery in San Floriano, owned by the Cesari family since 1928, dominates the Vallata di Marano, one of the four valleys of the historic Valpolicella area. The secret of these Veneto wine producers lies in the winemaking process, a crucial element of the Brigaldara identity. Supported by significant wine-makers such as Roberto Ferrarini, one of the most important innovators in the history of Amarone, the members of the Cesari family have in fact adopted important innovations for their production facilities and the cellar. Lamberto and Antonio, the current owners, encourage a specialised layout of the vineyards with constant love and passion, based on the varieties best suited to each area of their 120 hectares. So much attention makes the Brigaldara winery stand out with its unique biodiversity, respected and enhanced through sustainable practices, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, which allow them to bottle a varied wine heritage. Name and address of producer/distributor: Brigaldara - Via Brigaldara, 20 37029 - San Pietro in Cariano VR. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
