TASTING NOTES

The South Tyrol DOC Pinot Nero Riserva di Cantina di Bolzano comes from a selection of vineyards particularly suited in the area of Renon at 600 meters high. The fermentation of the must takes place in wooden barrels at temperatures never too high to extract all the aromatic potential and the right point of color from the grapes. Pinot Noir Riserva ages in barrique for a short period of 6 months, functional to wine and varietal and without becoming a protagonist. The glass has an intense ruby color and the nose reveals notes of cherry, raspberry and black currant. The finish continues with hints of cloves and tobacco. The palate is full, the structure is agile and firm at the same time, the flavor is consistent with the nose. Soft and good finish length. At the table is perfect with meat, game from feather or with medium-aged cheeses. To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 14/16 ºC. Read more Read less

This is the new symbol of Bolzano's winegrowing tradition: the Cantina Bolzano - Kellerei Bozen. The design of the building symbolises the quality and excellence of Alto Adige wines, the first CasaClima Wine®-certified wine cellar. It is here that the winegrowers dedicate themselves to making the wines of Kellerei Bozen unique, combining new knowledge and ancient traditions. Characterised by constant dedication, care before and after harvest and maturation of the wine in the cellars, under the watchful eye of experienced winegrowers, Cantina Bolzano offers an inimitable selection of fine wines. The diversity of the Alto Adige wine region, which is expressed in the nature and wines of the region, offers favourable conditions for the cultivation of varied, quality wines, from the white Gewürztraminer to Alto Adige red wines such as Pinot Noir. Today, 224 winegrowing members work there, united by passion, variety and the tradition of their land.
