TASTING NOTES

Tradition and family: these are the two key words that sum up the vision of the Monte Santoccio winery. Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ripasso from Monte Santoccio is a Veneto red wine that is halfway between the basic version and Amarone through the production technique known as Ripasso. This technique consists of producing a base wine similar to Valpolicella Classico and starting a second alcoholic fermentation by adding the marc from the production of Amarone. In our case, this is followed by 24 months of ageing in small wood, specifically Slavonian barrels. Intense ruby red in the glass, on the nose it is complex and ranges from jam red and dark fruit to sweet spicy nuances. An everyday wine, it is perfect as a pairing with grilled or roasted red meats.
