TASTING NOTES

The Tommasi company cultivates the history of wine with love, with the large wine production and the strong entrepreneurial sense of the founding family making it stand out among the wine-growing estates of the Veneto region. The company now has 195 hectares of its own vineyards, an important milestone, dedicated to the production of fine red wines. Tommasi's Valpolicella Classico Superiore is the wine that tells the story of the region and we can only agree. Elegant is the adjective that best describes Rafael's character. An unmistakable wine closely linked to the history of the Tommasi family. Valpolicella wines require great skill on the part of the winemaker to find the perfect balance between the different indigenous grapes: in this case 60% Corvina, 25% Rondinella and 15% Molinara. Following maceration and fermentation, Valpolicella Superiore Rafael is aged in Slavonian oak barrels for 15 months. In the glass it is a bright ruby red, opening on the nose with refined intensity, floral and fruity notes with ripe cherry highlights. It is subtle and velvety on the palate and impresses with a delicious length and freshness of the fruit, making it incredibly elegant. Very versatile, it is excellent with first courses with rich sauces, roasts and white meats. It is also recommended with spicy oriental dishes and tasty fish soups. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Tommasi

The Tommasi winery immediately distinguished itself in the Veneto region's wine panorama due to its great wine production, innovations in cultivation and the strong entrepreneurial sense of the founding family. An intuition that has always guided the most important choices, especially those related to the land to be cultivated, and that has led the company to its 195 hectares of vineyards. An important milestone, which the company nurtures and cultivates with love and dedication. Ninety of these hectares are linked to the production of precious Veneto red wines, thanks mainly to cultivation in the DOC areas of Verona and its surroundings. The rest is in the classic Valpolicella area, to which the family has always been very attached and which, even today, is cultivated with care and passion. A very strong bond unites the company to its land, capable of producing Veneto wines of the highest quality and rich in character, reflecting the unique style of the territory.
