Tenuta Sant'Antonio was established in 1989 when the four Castagnedi brothers, moved by a passion for wine growing and driven by an entrepreneurial streak, decided to acquire 30 hectares of vineyards in the Mezzane area. The climate in these areas is mitigated by breezes from Lake Garda with compact calcareous soils, which lend minerality and freshness to the wines. All these components are enhanced through natural work in the vineyard and wine cellar, so that each cultivated truth can express itself and the terroir from which it comes. Tenute Sant'Antonio's “Scaia” line is dedicated to a line of wines based on the utmost respect for the environment and special attention paid to all vinification steps. The soils of the “Scaia” varieties consist mainly of chalk, limestone and stone, which are called “scaie” in the local dialect. Trevenezie Scaia IGT is made from a blend of 55% Garganega and 45% Chardonnay, which after soft pressing undergoes alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel containers at a low temperature. A young wine in the glass with a delicate straw yellow colour. On the nose it expresses floral notes alongside fruity hints of white peach and more enveloping tones tending towards exotic fruit, such as banana, typical of Chardonnay. On the palate, it is pleasantly fresh and closes on savoury notes. Perfect for every day, it goes well with fish or shellfish based dishes, or delicate white meats.
