TASTING NOTES

The Cantina di Poggio al Tesoro is located between the Tuscan hills, in area covering 70 hectares of vineyards grown with respect for the microclimate and nature, with a view to organic and sustainable agriculture. Found in the Le Sondraie vineyard, where the soils have a characteristic iron and magnesium content: Rosso Mediterra IGT takes shape here, 25 metres above sea level. Made up of 40% Syrah and the rest divided into equal amounts of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, once pressed, the grapes are fermented in stainless steel for 12 days. The blend is then aged for eight months in second-use barriques. Mediterra is a wine with an intense red colour, strongly indicating a wine with impressive body and personality. The typical peppery notes of blackberry and red berry fruit are the result of a very accomplished and popular blend which combines the identifying notes of the three varieties from which it is made.
