TASTING NOTES

Calafuria is a fresh and floral rosé wine from Puglia, based on the Negroamaro grape. The strong hope of the Antinori family is that this wine will expand the winery’s horizon outside Tuscany. This label takes its name from the bay on the Adriatic coast of Salento, symbolising not only the wine’s land of origin but also its pleasant marine character. During the harvest, the very best grapes are picked by hand. After being processed in the wine cellar, the wine undergoes a brief ageing period of four months in stainless steel, allowing this excellent rosé to retain its freshness and great drinkability. The wine is a light and luminous pink in colour. On the nose, it is fine and elegant with sharp hints of citrus fruit: pink grapefruit above all, but also notes of small red berry fruits such as currants along with pomegranate and delicate floral notes. On the palate, it has a pleasant softness thanks to the fruit and finishes with a wonderful full-flavoured note that simply invites the drinker to take another sip. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Tormaresca

The Cantina Tormaresca winery is divided into two main estates, located in two of the most important wine-growing areas of Puglia. The first, Tenuta Bocca di Lupo, is located in the D.O.C. zone of Castel del Monte, in the heart of the Bari Murgia. The second, Masseria Maìme, is located in the Salento area. In both cases, the hectares are cultivated with indigenous grapes, fully respecting the unique characteristics of the land and its precious minerals. Painstaking and constant work has enabled the company to pursue an ambitious project, in full compliance with organic and sustainable viticulture: to produce Apulian wines that best represent the land of origin. To achieve this result, the Antinori family combines the oldest techniques with the most modern innovations, seeking a perfect balance between past and future, and making the most of the unique qualities of their terroir to tell their story in every glass. Name and address of producer/distributor: Tormaresca - S. Provinciale 86 Per Torre San Gennaro, 72027 San Pietro Vernotico (BR). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
