TASTING NOTES

Messorio is one of the most famous and important wines of Tuscany, a true champion. The red wine is born in the beautiful territory of Bolgheri, among olive trees and the nearby hilly areas covered by forests, starting from 100% Merlot grapes that are started to fermentation which takes place partly in steel and partly in concrete, with a maceration on the skins lasting 20 days. The wine ages for at least 18 months in new French oak barrels and completes the aging in bottle before being released to the market. Messorio di Le Macchiole in the glass is a deep ruby red color. The bouquet expresses scents of small berries to dark berries, delicate notes of spices, hints of herbs of the Mediterranean and liquorice root. The palate is extremely fine, harmonious, soft and with ripe fruit, with notes resulting from aging. The tannins are silky and of balanced freshness, making it perfect in combination with a mushroom risotto or with a pasta with meat sauce.
