The hills on which the vineyards rise, at altitudes varying between 200 and 400 meters, are volcanic in nature. The soil is characterized by the "pozzolane", otherwise called "terrinelle"; located in the points farthest from the vents of eruption, they are formed by volcanic ash, which have originated deep sandy soils.
