The history of the Massolino winery began in 1896, in Seralunga d'Alba. Today the three sons carry on the company thanks to the purchase of Cru that are now real legends among the fans: Vigna Rionda, Margheria and Parafada. Protagonist of the company’s history, Vigna Rionda is one of the most sought after and prestigious Cru in the area. We’re not just talking about microclimate and soil: something happens on that hill and that something gives life to the Rionda Vineyard Reserve, a truly unique wine. Produced with Nebbiolo grapes from the vineyard located in the Me.G.A. Vigna Rionda in Serralunga d'Alba, the grapes ferment and macerate on the skins for a long time in oak vats at a temperature around 30 C. Aging in large oak barrels of Slavonia up to 42 months, then age for up to 24 months in bottle. Barolo Riserva Vigna Rionda is presented to the glass with a deep garnet red color. The nose reveals broad and enveloping sensations, with hints of red and floral fruits with hints of undergrowth, tobacco, spices. The palate is a unique, long-lived and structured Barolo. It requires a little patience to express itself at its best and that is why it leaves the winery to the sixth year of aging as a Reserve. Wine always in evolution, it is excellent in combination with meat dishes, rich in aromas and intense and persistent flavors, with mature cheeses or as a meditation wine, for those who want to enjoy it relaxing and appreciating all the many qualities in their purity and with due calm. To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 18/20 ºC.
