TASTING NOTES

Since 1956, Michele Chiarlo vinifies the essence of Piedmont, loving and enhancing the most incredible wine territory in the world. Located between the towns of La Morra and Barolo, Cerequio is considered one of the most prestigious cru of Barolo. This Barolo Cerequio is produced only in exceptional years in a limited number of bottles and sold only on assignment. The fermentation takes place in oak vats with 20 days of maceration in contact with the skins and soft wetting of the hat. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in wooden vats. It is then aged for a minimum of 3 years, and ages for 2 years in medium capacity oak barrels, before aging in bottle. Barolo Cerequio is presented to the glass with a garnet ruby red color with brilliant reflections. The nose is broad, with great character with notes of ripe fruits, mint, eucalyptus, gentian and very fine spices. The palate is rich in structure with a dense texture of fine tannins, stands out in elegance and harmony that distinguish this truly unique Barolo Cru. Barolo Cerequio is excellent with eggs with white truffle d'Alba, lamb steaks in a pan, braised veal with Barolo, Castelmagno cheese. To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 18/20 ºC. Read more Read less
