TASTING NOTES

The Nadia Curto winery is located in the Annunziata hamlet of La Morra, near Borgata Ciotto, in one of the finest terroirs of the Langhe, in Piedmont. This wine of Nadia Curto is made from the homonymous grapes 100% Nebbiolo, which are de-stemmed, followed by maceration on the skins in continuous movement for 12 days and spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Aging lasts for two years in used barriques and for one year in bottle. Nadia Curto’s Barolo Arborina is a concentrated red wine, with structure and great complexity. Ethereal and initially reluctant to show, it reveals on the palate notes of small red fruits in spirit, strong spices, truffles and balsamic traits on the finish. Warm and soft, it showcases tight tannins that over time will turn to velvet. A Barolo of modernist inspiration, to wait, but already fine, charming, greedy. When the nobility of white truffle meets the most genuine cuisine of the Piedmontese tradition, this Barolo Arborina is perfect in combination. Whether it’s tajarin, a knife joke or eggs, this wine represents all the best of the Langhe in a sip and a bite. THE WINERY

Nadia Curto

In the hamlet of Annunziata di La Morra, for over 60 years, Marco Curto and his wife Adele have cultivated four hectares of vineyard on the hill of Arborina. Since the 2000s, their daughter Nadia, who, after having gained experience in another field, chose to pursue the careful and meticulous work of her parents, giving new life to the company. Nadia’s ability lies in finding her own way by taking inspiration from both of them and by taking advantage of the double savoir-faire from which she could draw. So in the vineyard he carries on a organic agricultural approach, putting into practice short macerations, pumping and daily fulling. All this is explained in the two versions of Barolo, inspired by modernism.
