FoFondata da Donato Giacosa, l'azienda Carlo Giacosa è situata nella zona del Barbaresco in 5 ettari di proprietà. Oggi l'azienda è gestita da Maria Grazia Giacosa che coltiva nelle proprie vigne varietà autoctone come Nebbiolo, Barbera e Dolcetto. Il Barbaresco Ovello è costituito da uve 100% Nebbiolo provenienti dal Cru Ovello a Barbaresco, che fermentano in acciaio e affinano in barrique di rovere francese per oltre 30 mesi e qualche mese in acciaio. Segue un affinamento di 6 mesi in bottiglia. Questo Barbaresco si presenta alla vista di un bel colore rosso granato intenso e al naso esprime un bouquet ampio e composito, con note speziate e fruttate, su cui spiccano sentori di ciliegia e amarena mature. In bocca risulta essere secco, pieno, equilibrato, di ottima struttura. Il Barbaresco Ovello di Carlo Giacosa è ottimo da bere in compagnia durante una cena importante, in abbinamento a secondi piatti gustosi di carne, come un buon arrosto di cinghiale.
