TASTING NOTES

Stars in the history of Fumane and Valpolicella Classica, the Allegrini family has always been committed to preserving their local culture and traditions. Thanks to important viticulture and wine making innovations, the master professional Allegrinis manage to preserve tradition, year after year and bottle after bottle, and produce unique and prestigious wines from grapes grown exclusively on their family’s 150 hectares of vineyards. Their most successful wine is Amarone which perfectly expresses the fine balance between wine making tradition and respect for raw materials. The result of carefully harvesting grapes by hand and over-ripening them naturally in lofts (Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, Rondinella and Oseleta varieties), this wine represents the productive excellence of Valpolicella. Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva Fieramonte, the product of a high hillside vineyard with south-facing slopes, ages in barriques for 48 months and then another 6 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, followed by bottle ageing for about a year. In the glass it glows a deep ruby red, and on the nose it is striking in its complexity with captivating roasted notes of coffee and tobacco. On the palate, it is full-bodied and enriched by velvety tannins and a lively freshness that lengthen the finish. Perfect paired with stews, braised meats and important meat dishes or enjoyed as a warm after-dinner drink. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Allegrini

Allegrini is the leading producer of Valpolicella Classica, and is one of the most award-winning and recognised Italian wineries in the world. Owned by the Allegrini family, settled in Valpolicella since the 16th century, the company has over 100 hectares of vineyards on the hills of the Classica area. While maintaining its family-run production rooted in tradition, it is also open to innovation and very attentive to respect for the environment. Barriques are used alongside large traditional barrels, and research into the best timing for the grapes results in a final product where the raw material expresses the best of itself. You can enjoy some of the best Veneto wines around with the guarantee of a quality product where tradition and innovation come together to create a unique taste. Allegrini products are made exclusively with the grapes grown in the vineyards owned by the family, cultivated and cared for with full respect for the land and traditions. Name and address of producer/distributor: Allegrini - Via Giare 9/11 - 37022 Fumane VR. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
