D'Angelo’s Aglianico del Vulture is made from the homonymous grapes that age for 18 months in barrique and another 8 months in bottle. It is a frank and strong wine like the terroir from which it comes: an area of Basilicata rich in minerals and nutrients that thanks to volcanic soil gives wines rich and complex organoleptic qualities, tending to mineral. Aglianico is a grape unknown to many, because it was introduced in very distant times but particular in its characteristics: rich in polyphenols and tannins, peculiarities that make it long-lasting and capable of developing exceptional qualities of balance and character. Aglianico di D'Angelo is presented to the glass with an intense ruby red color, revealing to the nose aromas of dried flowers, small black berries, rhubarb and spices. On the palate it surprises for its tannic charge, well present but at the same time integrated, with a long and fresh finish. Its minerality makes it perfect in combination with pasta dishes based on meat sauce, with roast or baked meat, or with sausages stewed. To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 18/20 ºC.
