TASTING NOTES

La Segreta è il nome del bosco che circonda i vigneti Ulmo e Maroccoli della omonima Tenuta Ulmo, Tenuta all’interno della quale vengono coltivate le uve dalle quali nasce il Segreta Bianco. Ci troviamo a Menfi, nella costa est della Sicilia tra il lago Arancio, tra i suoli profondi e ricchi di ciottoli e un’altitudine che arriva fino a 400 metri sopra il livello del mare. Qui si estende la DOC Menfi, che comprende quei vini che vengono prodotti nell’area compresa tra i 16 km nell’entroterra di Sciacca. Planeta è una giovane cantina che dal 1995 ha saputo ben presto posizionarsi tra le realtà vinicole più importanti della Sicilia e che ha deciso di approfondire la sperimentazione del Fiano, iniziando negli anni ‘90 con l’integrazione di questo storico vitigno campano caratteristico dell’Irpinia. Il bianco La Segreta è un blend di vitigni autoctoni e internazionali a bacca bianca: 50% di Grecanico,30% di Chardonnay, 10% di Viognier e 10% di Fiano. La vinificazione avviene ad una temperatura di 15° in tini di acciaio inossidabile. Il bianco Sicilia DOC si presenta al calice con un colore giallo tenue e sfumature di agrumi camomilla, qualche richiamo leggero di macchia mediterranea e una piacevole succosa nota tropicale. All’assaggio è fresco, dalla beva genuina e piacevole. Un bianco siciliano da bere tutti i giorni e ottimo da gustare con un piatto di pesce appena pescato. The total area of vineyards exceeds three hundred hectares, all of which are raised with the utmost care and with full respect for the differences of individual territories.
