TASTING NOTES

Nello splendido scenario del Monferrato, si trova una delle più importanti realtà vitivinicole, non solo della zona ma di tutto il Piemonte. L'Azienda Agricola Montalbera nasce all'inizio del ventesimo secolo in un territorio compreso fra i comuni di Grana, Castagnole Monferrato e Montemagno dove possiede 100 ettari di vigneti a corpo unico, più 10 ettari di vigneti nelle vicine Langhe in cui la famiglia Morando, proprietaria dell'azienda, affonda le sue radici. Montalbera possiede circa il 60% dei vigneti di Ruchè dell'intera denominazione (DOCG dal 2010). E' proprio su quest'ultimo che la famiglia Morando ha puntato maggiormente salvandolo dall'estinzione e da tanti anni si dedica alla sua valorizzazione, riuscendo a creare un vino rosso piemontese con un'identità ben precisa. «In Montalbera, ogni anno, cerchiamo di interpretare al massimo ogni vendemmia e dargli il giusto equilibrio – commenta Franco Morando – e considero il Ruchè Riserva Limpronta l’ultimo dei nostri gioielli. Come Montalbera siamo stati i fautori della riforma dello Statuto disciplinare del Ruchè avvenuto nel 2013 in cui si è parlato della novità della menzione Riserva e tra le prime cantine a sperimentare gli affinamenti in legno del Ruchè per liberare la capacità espressiva di un vitigno che ha molte sfaccettature e grandi potenzialità”. Il Ruché di Castagnole Monferrato DOCG Riserva è un vino dal colore rosso rubino tendente al granato, di ottima fattura ed eleganza, che sprigiona un profumo intenso e persistente con sentori tipici di frutti di bosco che evolvono in spezie orientali e pepe nero. Montalbera

In the heart of Piedmont, between the municipalities of Castagnole Monferrato, Grana and Montemagno, lies the Montalbera farm. Since its foundation at the beginning of the 20th century, one of the company's main objectives has been to create Piedmontese wines with character, that could best interpret the unique characteristics of the territory and enhance them in every glass. Over time, the company has been able to fulfil this promise and, with commitment and perseverance, has succeeded in establishing itself as one of the most interesting wineries in Piedmont. Today, its vineyards cover six hills in the area between Grana and Montemagno, while the valley floor is home to a vast cultivation of Piedmontese hazelnuts. Most of the hectares are planted with Ruchè. The age of the vineyards varies from seven to thirty years, and each of the vines is treated with appropriate care. The main form of cultivation is based on the low guyot, and every cultivation operation is carried out by hand to respect local tradition as much as possible.
