TASTING NOTES

La Spinetta is a highly prestigious Italian winery that has its roots in two important Italian regions, Piedmont and Tuscany. It was founded in the 60s by the Rivetti family, Giuseppe and Lidia, two skilled farmers who have tried over time to create a company made up of both tradition and innovation. Subsequently, their children Carlo, Bruno, Giorgio and Giovanna took over to continue to contribute to the work started by their parents, trying to enhance the native vines and respect for their area. The Piedmontese company began with the production of white grape varieties. In fact, in 1977 the Rivetti brothers began the first production of Moscato, Bricco Quaglia and Biancospino, which are the first Moscatos in Italy produced from a single vineyard. From the 1980s onwards, the company also started working with red grape varieties: Barbera, Barbaresco and Nebbiolo, respecting the terroir and carefully working some cru to produce excellent Piedmontese red wines. The project then continued in the 2000s in Tuscany with Casanova della Spinetta, cultivating Sangiovese. The Langhe nebbiolo DOC della Spinetta is obtained from monovarietal Nebbiolo grapes. It ages in second and third use French oak barrels for 12 months, and continues in the bottle for about 6 months. It is a red wine with a slightly intense garnet colour, with a beautiful aromatic intensity with floral notes of rose and wild berries. It has a pleasant taste on the palate, with gentle tannins but of a good calibre. Ideal for every day, it goes well with local cured meats. Read more Read less
LA CANTINA

La Spinetta

In the heart of Piedmont lies the La Spinetta winery, a true point of reference for the production of high-quality Piedmontese wines. Since its foundation, this family-run company has set itself the delicate goal of cultivating vines with full respect for the soil and its properties, avoiding the use of chemicals of any kind. Its organic and sustainable cultivation results in a final product of the highest quality, which will lead you to discover the most authentic side of Piedmont in every glass. Most of the vines have an average age of between 35 and 65 years: once this age is reached, it is possible to produce a wine with a compact and multifaceted taste, wonderfully complex, that will be able to tell you everything about the region in which it is born. Thanks to its strategic position and the care of the vines, the company is able to offer products such as Barolo and Barbaresco of the highest quality. Name and address of producer/distributor: La Spinetta - via Annunziata, 17 - 14054 - Castagnole delle Lanze AT.
