Barbaresco Costa Russi is an emblematic label of Angelo Gaja: the interpretation of an exclusive terroir according to an intimately personal and absolutely original vision, which came into the name only from the 2013 vintage. Costa Russi comes from the homonymous parcel where the vines date back to the age of 65, whose grapes are harvested by hand and the bunches are selected already during the harvest. The vinification phases involve aging in oak barrels: after aging in barrique for 12 months, Nebbiolo ages for another 12 months in large cask. Costa Russi di Gaja is presented to the glass with a garnet color with bright orange reflections, intriguing and complex to the nose it offers with varied fruity and floral sensations ranging from blackberry, plum and violet. It opens to the palate with a range of scents: coffee powder, chocolate, balsamic and menthol notes. The mouthfeel is full and full-bodied, with a refined mineral sensation accompanied by lively and soft tannins. Endless persistence on the finish. Barbaresco excellent in combination with red meat or roast. To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 16/18 ºC.
