TASTING NOTES

The Bianco Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC is one of the most important wines of the Miani winery. For a lover of varietal identity like Enzo Pontoni, tasting his white wine born from the assemblage of three important typical Friulian vines is an experience that can not be missed in the luggage of every wine-lover. Vinified in wood from carefully selected grapes, it is aged in wood until it reaches an undeniable structure and complexity. Bianco del Friuli is made up of a blend of Friulano, Malvasia and Ribolla Gialla. At the glass, it has a bright straw yellow colour and a fine nose, this wine expresses aromas of tropical fruit, white flowers, citric notes and minerals. On the palate it expresses elegance and freshness, with a strong mineral accent and a long and persistent finish. Perfect in combination with crustaceans or with lean white fish. To fully appreciate the style, this wine must be served at a service temperature of 12/14°C. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Miani

Enzo Pontoni is a winemaker and owner of the Miani winery, located in Buttrio with its medieval castle. The winery consists of 20 hectares of property partitions between Buttrio, Rosazzo and Corno di Rosazzo and is located 150-300 meters above sea level. The grapes Friulano, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Refosco are grown in guyot on soils rich in marl, called Ponca typical of the territory of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Enzo Pontoni defines his agriculture as normal, to avoid diseases in the most difficult years, with the vinification of the different parcels in a separate way, to maintain the integrity and precise identity of each. Both white and red are aged in barrique and French oak tonneaux, to bring the flavor of the fruit in the bottle. Steel is not used at all. Miani labels are distinguished by their great character, strong passion and powerful personality. Name and address producer/distributor: Cantina Miani - Via Peruzzi, 10 - 33042 Buttrio (UD). The products of this cellar should be stored in a cool and dry place away from heat sources.
