TASTING NOTES

Ca' del Bosco needs no introduction. Probably the most famous winery in Franciacorta and consequently Italian sparkling wine. It was established in the early seventies thanks to the intuition and pioneering spirit of Maurizio Zanella, who was the first to predict the future we see today. A land of great wines, and great sparkling wines. An avant-garde winery in every respect, Ca’ del Bosco is one of Italy’s leading companies. Man does not live on sparkling wines alone and Ca' del Bosco is well aware of this, also bottling still wines of the highest quality. Zanella’s white Curtefranca is a fearless competitor to the greats. The Burgundian roots of this variety continue in the cellar, where the musts ferment directly in highly selected barriques and wines are kept in wood for a further 10 months before bottling. There is no anxiety here about the "new vintage for white wines": the wine is put on the market after an average of two and a half years of aging in the bottle. A sumptuous Chardonnay, it has a green-gold colour, expressing white peach, hazelnut, melted butter and vanilla on the nose. Intense flavour, mineral and enveloping. One of the best Italian Chardonnays. Eclectic at the table with fish dishes, risottos and mushroom soups, large poultry and great cheeses. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Ca' del Bosco

An indisputable point of reference in Franciacorta and an example of excellence in the panorama of Italian sparkling wines, Ca' del Bosco is the protagonist of a story that smacks of a fairytale. It was the mid-1960s when Annamaria Clementi Zanella signed the deed of purchase of a small country house in the town of Erbrusco, surrounded by a chestnut wood. A few years later, her son Maurizio's intuition transformed it into one of the most famous wineries in the area. Maurizio's constant search for quality results in expedients that allow the Ca' del Bosco winery to distinguish itself from many others. The cultivation of more than two hundred hectares of vineyards is organised and divided according to the characteristics of the land. Many plots are dedicated to organic cultivation, thanks to the increasing adoption of sustainable practices. In addition, an entire area within the wine cellar is dedicated to art, where sculptures and other works contribute to the magic of the place and serve as a continuous source of inspiration. Ca' del Bosco sparkling wines, as well as both white and red wines, are perfect for celebrating an important occasion: their unmistakable, balanced notes are the result of skilful, measured dosage and work carried out with passion. Name and address of producer/distributor: Ca' del Bosco - Via Albano Zanella, 13 25030 Erbusco (BS). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
