TASTING NOTES

L’azienda Bel Colle nasce nel 1974 sulla collina dei castagni a Verduno, nel cuore delle Langhe, da un’idea e dalla passione dei fratelli Franco e Carlo Pontiglione e Giuseppe Priola. Una realtà che ha sempre avuto come obiettivo quello di produrre vini di qualità rispettando le consuetudini e le lavorazioni tradizionali. Nel 2015 viene acquistata dalla famiglia Bosio che ha rinnovato le tecnologie di cantina, senza rinunciare alla tradizione: vinificazione in acciaio, affinamento dei grandi rossi in botti grandi di rovere francese e Slavonia. Le uve Nebbiolo che vanno a formare il Barolo Riserva 10 Anni arrivano da due dei più importanti vigneti del comune di Verduno: Monvigliero e Boscatto. Si tratta di appezzamenti posti tra i 300 e i 400 m/slm composti prevalentemente da argilla e calcare. Le uve che ne derivano sono molto concentrate e ricche di sostanze. Una volta giunte in cantina le uve dei due Crus vengono vinificate separatamente ed ogni singolo lotto viene affinato per 5 anni in botti grandi di legno, solo in questo momento i due vini vengono assemblati per ottenerne solamente uno che rimarrà ancora 5 anni in botte: il Riserva 10 Anni. Versandolo nel calice a risaltare è il colore: un rosso granato con dei riflessi mattonati molto brillanti. Una volta che si annusa il bicchiere ad emergere sono i sentori speziati di pepe, noce moscata, vaniglie e tabacco. Più delicate sono le note floreali di rosa canina e violetta essiccata che lasciano poi spazio alla parte fruttata e leggermente mentolata. Al palato risulta un vino molto elegante, asciutto, pieno, robusto con un’intrigante trama tannica, che lo rende un prodotto adatto per essere bevuto subito. Un vino rosso piemontese importante che quindi si adatta perfettamente ad un ricco pranzo domenicale in compagnia, abbinato con un secondo piatto a base di carne rossa. Bel Colle

In the beautiful setting of the Langhe, in Piedmont, lies the Bel Colle estate. Since 1974, its founders, the Pontignone brothers and their friend Giuseppe Priola, have aimed to bottle excellent wines, enhancing the tradition and uniqueness of the territory that hosts them. The Bel Colle vineyards extend in an area particularly suited to the production of Barolo, on a hill of chestnut trees. The plots are located between 300 and 400 metres above sea level, enjoying favourable exposure and microclimate that give the grapes an intense and persistent aroma. In 2015, the company was taken over by the Bosio family, who applied technological innovations to the production processes, while still respecting the values that have always been promoted by the Bel Colle winery. Large French oak barrels store the important reds for at least five years, before they are transferred to the bottle. Sipping Bel Colle wines one is enchanted by the garnet reflections and spicy yet delicate aroma, characteristics sought after by all lovers of Piedmontese red wines.
