TASTING NOTES

Barolo Falletto DOCG Vigna Le Rocche is produced only in the best vintages and with grapes from the homonymous cru of Castiglione. A Barolo expressing its classicism, Rocche del Falletto comes from grapes harvested manually, a double sorting is carried out so that only the best bunches are vinified. They are then sent to the cellar for destemming. The alcoholic fermentation takes place spontaneously in cement containers, while the maceration lasts about a month. The liquid is then aged in large barrels for 36 months, as usual. The glass has a very bright color, with nuances between ruby and garnet. The notes of raspberry, figs and juniper bark blend with a few puffs of fresh and dry wildflowers. The velvety texture, fresh and of great balance allows the matching with red meat stew, game or blue cheeses. To fully appreciate its style, this Barolo must be served at a service temperature of 16/18 ºC. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Giacosa Bruno

The company represents a unique reference point for the entire Langhe area, in Piedmont, synonymous with territoriality and tradition. Founded in the early 1900s in the commune of Neive, it was not until the early 1980s, with the purchase of the Falletto vineyard in the commune of Serralunga, that the Bruno Giacosa labels began to establish themselves on the wine market. Cultivation takes place on a daily basis, and all with the utmost care and attention to detail. Today, the extension of the vineyards reaches 50 hectares, including many acquisitions that have been made at successive times since the foundation, to offer a great variety of incomparable red wines. The mid-1990s saw the first vinification of the Asili and Rabajà crus, following which the great Barbaresco came into the company. Extreme fidelity to the terroir and its versions, precise and enveloping expressions of Nebbiolo. The Langhe tradition from A to Z. Name and address of producer/distributor: Giacosa Bruno - Via XX Settembre, 52, 12052 Borgonovo (CN). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
